Thoughts on Christmas
Christmas should not only be a time or season, but a state of mind. To appreciate your abundant blessings, to cherish and promote peace, and to be merciful, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
I sometimes think we expect too much of Christmas. We try to crowd into one season, or one day, all the rushing thoughts to make things right for the whole year. I like to take Christmas all through the year. Perhaps it is the budo philosophy that makes me appreciate what I have and try to exercise mercy and kindness each day, then waking up on Christmas morning and smile that I am still around to enjoy the day.
Here are some Christmas gift ideas for you. You may not forget what others may have done to you, but you can give them your forgiveness. You may not understand your children’s stubbornness, but you can give them your tolerance. You may not like our Political leaders, but you can give them your prayers. And you might not think too highly of yourself at times, but you can give yourself respect.
Let us close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting and make it a daily practice to be merry with clear hearts.
I thank all of you for your support and trust in our leadership. We will continue to work diligently in order to provide you with only the best of Saito-ha Shito-ryu Karate-do in mind, body and spirit. I also would like to ask of your continued support. Your faithfulness and commitment encourages us, knowing that you will be with us for the entire journey.
Merry Christmas with the gift of love & friendship.
